Headingley sits next to Hyde Park in LS6, a little further out along Otley Road. It trades a few minutes of commute for bigger houses, more greenery and a high street that feels like a neighbourhood rather than a campus overspill. It is the natural move for groups going into second and third year, and for graduates who want to stay in the area they already know.
North Lane and the main Otley Road stretch are lined with independent cafés, bars and restaurants, with the Arndale Centre for the everyday shop. The Otley Run pub crawl runs right through the middle, so the main road is lively at weekends, but the side streets are quiet enough to live and revise on.
Sport is part of the furniture: Headingley Stadium is home to Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the Leeds Rhinos, and Leeds Beckett University's Headingley Campus is in Beckett Park on the edge of the area.
